I couldn't just leave it at that...

I didn't want to have my dying wishes be the top post on my blog, so on a lighter note...

Whatinthehellisgoingon? (It's not swearing if you run it into one word right?)

In the stores that is... Have you been out shopping lately? I am finding nothing! NOTHING I tell you! I can't come up with good gifts for my kids. Spencer's first list was full of things like a Nintendo Wii, a TV, an XBox 360, the video game Kameo, a Lego set (that costs like $150). Melissa's list is a Portable DVD player, a cell phone, an IPod... Then Jenna wants a Kitten and a Horse (real ones of course). That's not much help since we aren't getting them any of those things. Melissa hands me her list and says, "I can always ask right?"

So I go out shopping hoping the stores have some good ideas, and they really don't. You hear that prices are supposed to be pretty good this year considering the fact that they are trying to lure shoppers, but I am not seeing it. And I am starting to panic. There are what? 2 weeks until Christmas? What do I do? I don't really know how to find good deals on the Internet either. I bought something for Melissa last year, but that was through a store's site and I felt like there was at least something I could do about it if things didn't work out great.

I know, I am rambling, but I feel aimless in my attempt at Christmas shopping this year. SO, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. What are you doing for your kids, and what should I do for mine? I'm just askin'...

On a side note, I have put Christmas lights on the trees outside of our house, but need some more red mini lights because some of the trees are bigger this year than they were last year (duh, I know) and I need more strands. But I can't find Red ones anywhere! ANY thoughts of good places to look? I've tried Walmart, Target and Shopko...

I LOVE internet shopping, but then, I AM addicted to the internet, so combing the web is fun for me. I always start with Amazon, and see what they're prices are like. Then I use some of the bigger shopping search engines like Shopping.com, and Pricegrabber.com. Then, I always do a google search for the product, just to see where else it can be found.
One of the things that I really like about Amazon, is after you find a product, if you scroll down, they'll give you a list of what other shoppers bought and what other shoppers also looked at. This is helpful if you have a vague idea about what you want, but need more ideas.
Then, I do a google search for promotion codes. All you have to do is type in the name of the store or product and "promotion code". They have big sites that you can search, but I prefer to do it this way because it catches more codes. I once found a promo code for 25% off on some random person's blog that I never would have found if I just searched promo code sites.
Also, you should go to ebates.com and sign up for an account. It's free, and at least when I signed up, I got a $10 gift card to Target. Ebates tracks your online purchases and gives you a small percentage back. Once you accumlate $5, they'll send you a check, and keep sending you checks as you accumulate money. It has to be from stores that they're affiliated with, but that's practically every store. And, if you do sign up, enter my email address (heather246@gmail.com) so I can get some sweet moulah for referring you. Whew!
I lost the battle, and we're getting Ethan and Matthew leapsters. And we got Justin a bead maze that we found at Kid 2 Kid. I realize that these ideas won't help you at all, but anyways...
Hope that helped at least a little bit!
And, have you checked Home Depot or Lowes for mini red lights?

Tuesday Morning and Big lots have tons of random christmas decoration things. About presents, shh...don't tell, but Brandon is getting a digital camera that we got from a radio shack or other type store. It does pictures, video, and games too. It was $20. Brittany is getting a doll nursery station. kind of big, but its basically all she is getting. Its like a changing table, and fake sink, and cupboard for the doll stuff. It was 20. We love the aquadoodle for Jayden's age. It uses water, but only a tiny bit that even if he could take of the lid, which is hard, it makes only a tiny wet spot. Our kids are getting a TVcam from Mom and dad, that is also karoake. So, they have words on the screen, plus can see themselves dance and stuff on TV at the same time. Good luck shopping. We had a hard time coming up with stuff too.

Andrea: My local Ace Hardware Store had strings of red mini-lights today for 50% off. Check your local Ace store - they probably have the same things.
